Staten Island, NY Schools to use bhworks
STUDENT MENTAL HEALTH SOFTWARE USE CONTINUES TO GROW WITH STATEN ISLAND, NY
Baltimore, MD — The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene in New York is the latest to join a rapidly growing number of bhworks mental health software platform users across the country. The Foundation, a nonprofit, assists and enhances the research and training objectives of the New York State Department of Mental Hygiene and its component agencies: the Office of Mental Health (OMH); the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD); and the Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS).
The organization received a 5-year Garrett Lee Smith (GLS) federal grant to focus on student suicide prevention. bhworks software will be used in 22 Staten Island middle and high schools with approximately 30,000 students.
The comprehensive, validated, behavioral health software platform from mdlogix helps school health providers to collect electronic consent, screen, identify, assess, refer, and monitor treatment for students in need of services. The goal is to intervene earlier - prevention saves lives - and to more effectively treat youth mental and behavioral health problems.
bhworks allows school districts to comprehensively screen whole populations with high efficiency and reliability, help with assessments, offer referrals and care coordination, communicate via virtual visits, and securely collect data to see outcomes in real time, generate reports, and adjust resources as needed. Other benefits are:
- Follow scalable, standardized best practices across a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) - with a written collaborative guide by national experts
- Refer to student supportive services
- Decrease wait-time for students receiving care
- Increase provider proficiency
- Increase efficiency and reduce administrative burdens
- Connect care across traditional boundaries
- Assist with SPARS federal government reporting and program evaluation
- Consult with the bhworks team for solutions and grant support for sustainability
bhworks is web-based and HIPAA security compliant. It is deployed statewide in Michigan, as well as in Pennsylvania, and in schools in Arizona, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, Vermont, and more. We are working with our clients to bring more joy to students’ lives.
