mdlogix to support statewide suicide prevention model

mdlogix is pleased to announce that we will be working with the state of Pennsylvania to support the development of a statewide suicide prevention model. The project will focus on improving communication between county crisis response teams and other youth-serving systems, as well strengthening care transitions by increasing the number of organizations with established protocols and cross-systems MOUs. The state will leverage our BH-Works software platform to provide organizations with a web-based, standardized behavioral health measure. In addition to screening, BH-Works will be used to aggregate and analyze data across the many organizations participating in the project.

For the past 10 years, we have been working with the state to enable early identification and intervention of Pennsylvania youth experiencing mental health problems and psychosocial risk factors. The ultimate goal of this initiative has been to support vulnerable individuals before their issues escalate to crisis. Our partnership with the state began in 2007 when we deployed BH-Works in the emergency department at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia as part of their Violence Prevention Program. Since then, BH-Works has been leveraged in primary care clinics, crisis centers, colleges, universities, and more than 1,000 public schools, resulting in approximately 100,000 youth screened for risk and referred to treatment. Numerous validation studies have been conducted by our academic partners at the University of Pennsylvania, Drexel University, and Thomas Jefferson University, helping to accelerate adoption of our evidence-based tool across the state.

We are proud to have helped make a difference in the lives of Pennsylvania youth and their families, and we look forward to expanding our technology to support this comprehensive coalition.
